Uphall Primary

Innovation Pod will be continuing its award-winning Coding clubs at Uphall Primary in January 2023.  Read about our curriculum and find full details about the clubs below.

Years 1 - 2

Children in our KS1 club will take part in our exhilarating 'Creative Art' and 'Code to Music' modules. In 'Creative Art', children learn and apply coding skills on three different platforms that allow them to create  images and patterns on screen like a real digital artist. As well as a chance to be creative with their coding, this module builds up their block coding skills to be confident with directions, variables and pauses. In 'Code to Music', pupils will be learning how to code music with a variety of platforms, including Scratch, Pencil Code Gym and the virtual micro:bit. They’ll make interactive projects with a dynamic soundtrack.

Years 3-6

Children in our KS2 clubs will be studying two thrilling modules, 'Tynker Javascript' and 'Python with Codesters'. In the ‘Javascript’ module, pupils learn one of the most widely used coding languages on the internet. They gain a huge sense of achievement as they write lines of real code complete with complex syntax. In our 'Codesters' module, children learn the syntax of one of the world’s most powerful coding languages used in AI. They also get to compare and contrast this to other coding languages which helps build a deep understanding of code.

Details & FAQs

Dates and times:
Clubs take place straight after school until 4:20pm

Years 1&2: Tuesdays
From 10th January - 21st March
Years 3-6: Wednesdays
From 11th January - 22nd March

Snack: 
As our club is straight after school, parents can pack a healthy snack in accordance with the school's food policies.  

Pick-up and drop off:
Children are collected from their classroom and taken straight to their club.  At the end of the session, children will be either picked up by a guardian from the front entrance or taken to another provision at the school.

Price:
£5.50 (plus VAT) per session.  Payment for the full 11 weeks is taken as a one-off Direct Debit of £72.60. 

This is NOT a recurring payment and you will NOT be entered into a subscription.
